Fought in the Boer War.He was a private in the Durban Light Infantry.I have a copy of a letter from the War Office dated 12Dec1899 which states that he was slightly wounded on the 15Nov1899.His regiment were in Fort Wylie near
Colenso on the 12Dec1899 and appear to have been part of General Bullers

It would appear that the Cupar/Ceres parish boundry runs through Bridgend.
