Grace Eddie

Grace Eddie christened 13.11.1851 Free Church Bathgate in 1871 a domestic servant for a chemist in Bathgate and in 1881 one of three servants for a magistrate in Partick

Grace Eddie christened 13.11.1851 Free Church Bathgate. In 1871 she was a domestic servant for a chemist in Bathgate and in 1881 one of three servants for a magistrate in Partick. In 1891 she was a housemaid for two retired merchant in Govan. She married James Kerr, son of Alexander Kerr and Sarah McDonald and a widowed police constable “At Blackburn, 24th September 1891, by the Rev John Lindsay, UP Minister at Bathgate, James Kerr, Hillhead, to Grace, third daughter of the late John Eddie, baker, Blackburn.” In 1901 James was a retired police constable and they lived at 58 Westmoreland St Govan with two of his daughters and three of his grandchildren. Grace died in 1939 in Portobello
