Duncan Alexander Fraser

Duncan Alexander Fraser - born 4 February 1877 in Kirkhill. He came to the United States in 1905, where he worked in many of the states doing construction. He met his wife, Ruth Kerr, while living in a boarding house in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married 23 February 1918 in Salt Lake City. Ruth traveled with him to many of his construction jobs, they finally built a home and he semi-retired in Payson, Utah, where Ruth's family were from. They had 2 daughters - Ruth Fraser, born 3 March 1921. She either was stillborn or died the same day. My mother-in-law was Ruth Marie Fraser- she was born 23 December 1929 in Payson, Utah. She is still living in Boring, Oregon. Duncan Alexander died of Heat Exhaustion on a construction job in Indio, California on 6 August 1932, when Ruth Marie was 2 1/2. Her mother, Ruth Kerr Fraser, died 9 August 1941, in Payson, of cancer. Ruth was raised from there by an aunt.Kath Riches 2009.

Historical Information: No 26 Air School, of the Empire Training Scheme was established here during the Second World War. The three casualties of the First World War buried here in the British Gardens of Remembrance were originaly buried at Warmbaths but mistakenly exhumed and re-intered together with remains of soldiers of the Anglo Boer War.
