CONTACT July 2004 Newsletter for the Parishes of HOLLESLEY ALL SAINTS & BOYTON with CAPEL From Hillside, How determined are you to keep your parish Church open for when you might need it? Looking at the list of people who sign the Visitor's Book there are many reasons for a visit to the Church, the historic monument within the village. Whether it is a wedding, baptism, funeral, time to be quiet, tracing ancestors or feeling near to God, we need to maintain the building and to enhance the worship. Both our villages are getting up steam for the fetes. Are fetes an event of the past? Hollesleys on 17th July and Boytons on 4th September are important days within the life of both church communities. Please support us by joining with us for the afternoon. Your friend, Judith. BOYTON MISSION Come and help celebrate 75 years of Christian outreach with a Songs of Praise evening, Thursday 22nd July, 7pm at The Mission. Further information from: Steve Tel. 01394 411876 or Derek Tel. 01394 333151.
'CABARAID and CHRISTIAN AID COLLECTION It was great to see the Church full for Cabaraid, when £162.94 was raised for Christian Aid. More than that though, it was a very special night where local talented people of all ages gave us an evening to remember. We hope to do another one before too long, so if you missed it do come next time. You will be glad to know that the Christian Aid House-to-House collection in Hollesley, Boyton and Capel St. Andrew raised £941.53, which together with Cabaraid made a grand total of £1104.47. Well done everybody and thank you.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK Mary Chittock and Isobel Lilley thank Boyton and Capel St Andrew for their generous contributions.

HOLLESLEY FLOWER FESTIVAL An enormous thank you from Les Andrews and Hollesley PCC. A thank you to those who arranged flowers, stewarded the church, made and served refreshments, helped in other ways and, most important, those who came to support the event. The Flower Festival raised £900.00 which the PCC are looking to use to design and buy a Loop System for Hollesley Church.
HARVEST AT HOLLESLEY In 2002 we collected old and unwanted tools to send to Third World countries via Tools With a Mission. In 2003 we collected tins and biscuits to support the homeless in Ipswich. Both these ventures were very successful and I believe appreciated more than the traditional fruit and vegetables. Does anyone have any ideas for 2004? If so please telephone: Judith Andrews on 01394 411642.
BOYTON COFFEE MORNING 10.30am SATURDAY JULY 3rd at Boyton Village Hall. As well as refreshments there will be a Bring & Buy stall.
Do you enjoy flower arranging and/or cleaning and would like to help out your local church?
