What a fantastic response Boyton and Hollesley had at their Harvest Services. Thank you. Boyton Church was decorated with fruit and vegetables and smelled wonderful. Hollesley Church was filled with paper, pencils, felt tips and pencil cases of every shape and size.
We, as a nation, take so much for granted and often devalue small and insignificant items like a pencil or a piece of paper. It is good that we can help others. The gifts from Boyton were taken to the residents of The Mary Warner Homes. . The gifts from Hollesley Church will be sent to Gambia.

Coffee and chat in Hollesley Church on Tuesday 2^nd and Tuesday 16^th of November 2.30pm.

Since 1990 the charity Samaritans Purse International Ltd. has run an annual project Operation Christmas Child which collects shoe boxes filled with small toys, school supplies and other gifts from people and communities across the UK and then, working with national churches and charities, delivers them around Christmas-time to children in hospitals, orphanages, refugee camps, homeless shelters, and impoverished neighbourhoods in other countries. This year the shoe boxed gifts will be delivered to children in twelve different countries (see October Contact for more information). Filled shoe boxes are urgently needed, if you would like to fill one please contact: Di Barnard on 0l394 411079 or Pat Fleetwood on 0l394 4l0409 for the explanatory leaflet, which gives more details about what you can include plus labels and envelope to go with your shoe box. During the weekend of 6th November you will receive a short report on some of the results from the Appraisal Questionnaire. On 13^th November between 10am and 5pm there will be an interactive exhibition "Moving Hollesley Forward" at Hollesley Village Hall. Hollesley Appraisal & Village Plan Steering Group

The nights are getting darker. Why not join with Geoff and I at Sandling House, Hollesley, the home of Pat Shannon, to improve your knowledge of a little part of the Bible. The theme of the four evenings will be The Beatitudes. Just to remind you the dates are:
Tuesday 16th November - Open to God: poor in spirit and those who mourn
Tuesday 23rd November - Seeking Gods Kingdom: the meek and those who hunger and thirst after righteousness
Tuesday 30th November - Living in Love: the merciful and the pure in heart

Tuesday 7th December - Overcoming evil with good: the peacemakers and those who are persecuted for righteousness sake
Each of the evenings will start at 7.1 5pm and end at 8.45pm.

For several years we have had a Gift Day when each of you can give thanks for your world, your health, your family and friends, your work, your home and all the luxuries you enjoy, BUT most of all to say thank you to the one true and ever loving God who showers you with all these gifts. Please come and see Geoff or Judith in Hollesley Church, Saturday 20^th November between 10am and Midday. It can be quite lonely sitting there alone. Come and talk to us!!

The AGM was well-attended and subscriptions taken, Margaret Last, Alderton and Kay Raffe, Hollesley, were re-elected as leader and secretary respectively and Pat Fleetwood, Boyton, was elected as treasurer. Kay Raffe

The weather was good, bright and sunny, although rather windy, and again we had a most enjoyable day. I feel the cycle ride resembles a moveable feast and I eat my way round. The church for the best refreshments, this year was Chillesford, the tomato flan was superb! The total raised was £270.00 to be divided between The Trust and Hollesley Church. Grateful thanks to all, especially our sponsors. Joan Butcher
