From The Rectory, This has got to be my favourite time of year. The cold morning air has a certain keenness to it that has gone beyond just being fresh and it forces you to wake up and take In everything around you. I go running across Sutton Heath most mornings and at this time of year it is at its most beautiful, the colours in the trees takes my breath away (as does the running). I see the colours of the trees, feel the freshness of the air and look at the glories of the sunrise and say to myselt How can I not believe in God! Whether you believe or not, I defr you to spend a little time taking in the wonders of autumn and not feel deeply moved by the beauty, Yours Geoffrey For services this month click on October Services You are welcome to join with any of the following:

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Since 1990 the charity Samaritans Purse International Ltd. has run an annual project Operation Christmas Child which collects shoe boxes filled with small toys, school supplies and other gifts from people and communities across the UK and then, working with national churches and charities, delivers them around Christmas-time to children in hospitals, orphanages, refugee camps, homeless shelters, and impoverished neighbourhoods in other countries, who may have little, if anything to call their own. This year the shoe boxed gifts will be delivered to children in twelve different countries, ranging from Romania, Hungary, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine in Eastern Europe, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia in the Balkans, to Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Caucuses plus, for the first time, boxes are also being sent to Mozambique in Southern Africa and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia. Filled shoe boxes are urgently needed, if you would like to fill one please contact: Di Barnard on 0l394 4l1079 or Pat Fleetwood on 01394 410409 for the explanatory leaflet which gives more details about what you can include plus labels and envelope to go with your shoe box.
