HOLLESLEY ALL SAINTS & BOYTON with CAPEL
ST ANDREW

From The Rectory,

Noise Pollution is an irritating modern phenomenon that can plague us from time to time. Picture the scene; I was sitting in the garden at about 7pm listening to a cuckoo when from somewhere or other heavy metal music ripped through the air. Not that I have anything 1 against heavy metal, but it seems that you can't go anywhere these days without having to put up with background noise or music invading the silence. More often than not we do not even recognise that we are being bombarded by noise. So is this the vicar joining the ranks of the grumpy old men? No, it is the vicar saying try a dose of silence every now and then and try to listen to the silent voice within and the great hymn of praise being sung by mother nature all around us.

Yours Geoffrey
