CONTACT May 2005 Newsletter for the Parishes of HOLLESLEY ALL SAINTS & BOYTON with CAPEL From Hillside, Our villages have a month of celebration!! On Thursday 5th May the Church celebrates Ascension Day. This is the day when our risen Lord has completed the earthly part of His life and returns to God. Ten day later, Sunday 15th May is called Pentecost. God sends the Holy Spirit to be with each of us. We minister and serve in the name of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. We cannot see the spirit, as we cannot see the wind, but we can feel the wind and if we ask we can feel the effects of the Spirit working in and through us. Hollesley welcomes The Gilbert and Sullivan Singers in the Village Hall on Saturday 14th May at 7.30pm. What ever your taste in music I am certain there will be a selection just for you. Boyton looks forward to a Flower Festival at the close of the month during the holiday weekend, 28th, 29th and 30th May. Please see the posters for times of opening. Enjoy the celebrations in May. Yours, Judith

Riddle of the month: Q: Garry: When we were at the seaside a crab bit one of dad's toes! Harry: Which one? A: Garry: Dunno. All crabs took alike to me! Quote of the month: I'd rather be a failure at something I enjoy than be a success at something I hate." (George Burns) |
