Our villages have a month of celebration!!

On Thursday 5th May the Church celebrates Ascension Day. This is the day when our risen Lord has completed the earthly part of His life and returns to God. Ten day later, Sunday 15^th May is called Pentecost.  God sends the Holy Spirit to be with each of us. We minister and serve in the name of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. We cannot see the spirit, as we cannot see the wind, but we can feel the wind and if we ask we can feel the effects of the Spirit working in and through us.

Hollesley welcomes The Gilbert and Sullivan Singers in the Village Hall on Saturday 14^th May at 7.30pm. What ever your taste in music I am certain there will be a selection just for you.

Boyton looks forward to a Flower Festival at the close of the month during the holiday weekend, 28^th, 29^th and 30^th May. Please see the posters for times of opening. Enjoy the celebrations in May.

Join us for our 25th Anniversary Show, Hollesley Village Hall

Wednesday 4^th May 7.30pm, Friday 6^th May 7.30pm, Saturday 7^th May 7.30pm.

Tickets £6.00 adults & £3.00 (Children under 12), available from the Box Office on 01394 410230 also Alderton Post Office Stores & Hollesley Village Stores. There will be table seating, refreshments and bar. So why not come along and enjoy the intimate atmosphere with waiter/waitress service. This is a production with a difference!

HOLLESLEY CHURCH CLOCK

Although the clock now shows the correct time, the chiming mechanism has been diagnosed as requiring substantial repairs and will remain silent for some time. No decision has been made on what to do .                   Fred Stentiford

 

REVISED AND NEW BUS SERVICES

Good news, there are more local buses.  Details available at the Hollesley Village

Stores and the Shepherd and Dog Pub.

 

BELLRINGING

Holesley Bellringers are hoping to improve their skills with a quarter peal (45min) at 6pm on the 8^th  May and on the second Sunday of each month.                                      Fred Stentiford

 

THE BIG VOTE

No, not the General Election but the Big Vote for Trade justice. Christian Aid Week is May 15^th - 21^st.  This year when the collector calls for your envelope he/she will offer you the chance to vote to ask the government to do something about avoidable global poverty.
