Enjoyed the old photos. I
should send you a copy of a
U.S. patent from 1898 that was
given to William Frost and Roland
Everton, of Troy, New York,
for a dulcimer that was identical
to the Birmingham style of
instrument. They were from England
and immigrated in the 1880s.
I don't know how many instruments
they made or anything more
about them, but no doubt they
were from the Birmingham area.
Theirs had hammers, if I recall.
