Florence was born in Leicester, UK. Her father was a travelling photographer. She married Warwick Freebody in Saskatchewan, Canada on 21 September, 1911. She also lived in Edmonton, and Calgary at certain times.

It appears she had an interest in poetry and music, and her grandson thinks she may have had some songs published. She married again after Warwick's death. Her marriage to John Moore a farmer took place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on the 1st May 1937.

She is buried in Queens Park cemetery, Canada.
