Kalina's Status:

Kalina is a very good caring mother and performs daily in the shows, and does waterworks with trainers. After a seven hour labour, Kalina gave birth to her last calf, on February 9th 2004.

Kalina's History:

Kalina is the first orca to have been successfully born in captivity. Kona 2* played the role as the "Auntie" during Kalina's birth. Kalina was also born Head First which is rather uncommon. Kalina had spent 5 years of her life at SeaWorld Orlando, until February 1990 when she was transferred to SeaWorld Ohio. Her stay wasn't long there, because on October 1990 she was transferred to SeaWorld San Diego. Once again her stay wasn't long, and in May 1991 she was transferred to SeaWorld San Antonio, where she met Kotar*, a future mate. At the age of 8, Kalina gave birth to her first calf, Keet, on 2nd February 1992. Kalina again mated with Kotar* and at seven months pregnant she was transferred t SeaWorld Orlando to handle her pregnancy. 2 years on she gave birth again, but sadly it was a still-born. 1 year later, Kalina mated with Tilikum and gave birth to her third son, Tuar.
