K'yosha's History
K'yosha was the second calf of Bjossa* and the first calf of Finna*. After her birth, K'yosha was monitored by trainers. After a couple of weeks they noticed K'yosha wasn't gaining any weight. On 25th October 1991, Bjossa and K'yosha were separated. K'yosha was put in a pool with Pacific White-Sided Dolphin, Whitewings. Her first day, separated from her mother, K'yosha cried a lot. Every four hours, K'yosha was tube-feed, and one hour after her feeding, a diver would go down and play with her. K'yosha then started gaining weight. K'yosha soon became very attached to Whitewings, and they chased each other and played with a ball together. Every week K'yosha was weighed, and they noticed that she had scratches over her body, and a lot on her head. The trainers would rub her down with Wescodyne.
On 4th January trainers saw K'yosha bump into the walls. The vet was called and K'yosha seemed normal. Just as the vet was about to leave, K'yosha swam head first into a wall. The vet and trainer went into the water to hold her up... but later she stopped breathing. K'yosha died of a brain infection and broken jaw.
