Nakai's Status

Nakai is already learning the basic water work skills with his trainers. His part in the shows are normally slide-outs and bows. One of Nakai's favourite tank mates is Sumar, but he gets along well with all orcas. Nakai is a very curious and playful orca, and loves to interact with guest at Shamu Close Up.

Nakai's History

Nakai is the first orca conceived through artificial insemination. Nakai was also the first orca to be born, in SeaWorld San Diego, for 10 years. Nakai's name was chosen by a poll. The other names to vote for were: Inizio , T.K, Shgen-doo, and Makai.
