Nootka and Kiska both share the dominancy role, at MLC. Nootka and Kiska are retired performs in KWT, but they both do a few bows and breaches at the beginning of a petting session. Unlike Kiska, Nootka does not interact. Nootka gave birth to her 7th calf on April 7th 2004, but sadly it did not survive. Nootka gets on well with all orcas except Hudson. She has shown aggression signs towards him.

Nootka's History:

Nootka was captured along with Nemo*, Ruka*, Neptune*, an unnamed male* and female*. Like many orcas captured in Iceland, their first aquarium was: Saedyrasafnid Aquarium.  Nootka was sent to Marineland Ontario, whilst Nemo* was sent to Windsor Safari Park, Neptune* and unnamed male* were sent to Clacton Pier, and  Ruka* was to Nanki Shirahama Adventure World. The unnamed female* died at the Icelandic Aquarium.

At Marineland, Nootka met Kanduke*, Knootka* and Kiska. A year after her capture Keiko* joined them, and 2 years later they were joined by Junior* and Kandu 7. Keiko* left MLC in 1985. In 1986 Knootka* was sold to SeaWorld San Diego and in 1987 Kanduke* was sent to SeaWorld. In 1990, Junior* was separated from them, and was placed in warehouse, where he died.

Nootka lived all her life, at MLC, in King Wardolf's Theater, until Friendship Cove was built.
