Kayla's Status
Kayla is Kenau's only living calf and her only living relative is her half sister, Orkid. The two have never met. Kayla lives with 6 other tank mates: Kyuquot, Keet, Keto, Unna, Tuar and Tekoa. Kayla gets along with everyone. Kayla is the biggest and oldest orca at SWT. She performs regularly in the shows and does waterworks.
Kayla's History
Kayla has born at SeaWorld San Antonio. She had spent her first 2 years of her life there, with her mother, until she was sent to SeaWorld Ohio in 1991, where she joined Katerina* to perform in the shows. Katerina* was transferred to SeaWorld San Antonio in 1994, but Kayla's new tank mate became Winnie*. For 5 years, Kayla and Winnie* entertained the on-coming guests, until SeaWorld Ohio decided to renovate the pool, and Kayla and Winnie* were sent to SeaWorld San Antonio. Winnie* and Kayla met Haida 2*, her son Kyuquot and Keet. For years the only residents at SWT were: Haida 2*, Winnie*, Kyuquot and Kayla, until in March 2001 Keto joined the gang. Later that year Haida 2* died and the year later Winnie* died. Kayla then became dominant orca. When Unna moved to SWT the dominances was then shared between the two females.
