Marineland of the Pacific

Marineland of the Pacific held the first ever captive orca. The orca was a female caught in November 1961, and only lived one day. Marineland got their second orca, Orky, arrived in July 1967 and lived a total of 2 years. Corky, the parks second female, was caught in April 1968, and died on December 1970. Marineland then caught two orcas on 12th December 1969, Patches and an unnamed male. Patches lived until August 1971 and the unnamed male lived until May 1972. Corky 2 (now at SeaWorld San Diego), had a total of 5 unnamed calves at MLP. Only one of her calves was named, and that was Kiva, who lived 46 days.
