Nanki Shirahama Adventure World's first orca was a female, Kianu, who was bought from Six Flags Marine World. She died in June 1980. 3 orcas were all captured together on February 1979, but Benkei was the only one that lived the longest. One of the Unnamed Orcas died 1 month after it's capture, and the other died 2 months after it's capture. Benkei lived a total of 10 years at Shirahama. Ushiwaka was caught in Iceland in October 1980. He died in July 1983. Ruka was also caught in Iceland a year after Ushiwaka. Ruka lived for over 18 years in Shirahama. Ai was another female who lived at the park for 6 years.
