Trip Report for 22nd of September 2001:-

I got in London at 09:00 after driving all the way there by car. I went straight to the New London Theatre and parked in the CATS car park. I had a look around Covent Garden and some other shops then I went back to CATS and picked up my tickets that I booked. Then I went to Victoria to Apollo Theatre to get my Starlight Express tickets that I had booked. When I get there I find out that it was port of Open House. and they where having free Tours of the theartre. Will I just had to go on the tour. I got to see all the theartre backstage etc. which was a nick surprise. The tour was at 1pm. then I had some lunck at Burgaking, then to the show at 3pm. Another report of StEx up soon. I left StEx at 5:30pm and headed straight to New London for CATS. Got there at 6pm. Weighted around the atrium, I wore my CATS t-shert. and people where asking me questions about CATS. What time it startd, finishes, where are the toilets, who plays what part, is there a bar, is there food etc. where it is, where do I go etc. hehe I liked it looked like I worked there, one of the other ushers cam up and said you are good, you should have a job hear. and I agread yep I would love a job hear. Then he opend the escilators up, and I went up and bort lots of stuff from the shops again. And this time I had my new Camera so I took lots of photos of everything in the auditorium all the CATS photos, piccys and the Costumes etc. Over 100 photos. But I dident have my big flash so some of them came out a bit bark but ok.

I dident have much sleep for almost 72 hours. I have driven 1,133 miles in just over 24 hours. spent over £300 on getting there and other stuff, £70 on Cats Stuff. They got some sweat shorts there this time so I got one :). another t-shert, another mug, poster, 3 more key-ring, five pens, two more programs, etc etc. I cant just got one of everything I need at least two :) :). everything in the shop.

The programs are a lot better this time, more CATS photos and information in them and not full of junk. but there was another booklet in the back with some of the junk in.

Now I am babbling on, right the show.

I had Seat A26 Moving Platform. A very good Seat, right next to the main tunnen in the middle, where Cassandra Comes out in the begining and where Mungo hangs out a bit. Lots of Leg room etc in the seat area. I had a looksee under the stage. there is nothing under there apart from pipes that go to the smoking bits at the back, the middle night, Rumpuses Trap spring, and a couple of other wires around it, a Four peace trap door on the floor but I think that is just to access the moving bits under the stage floor floor. There are no other tunnes under the stage just openings and small tunnels where the casts come out. Nice and bark under where too.

The show started and I noticed where is Etcetera, Electra and Victor????. three missing kittys. UMM. O well.

David Ashley [aka munkustrap] Was very very close to Helen [aka Bombalurina] all the way throw the show. And I looked me straight in the eye and winked. hehe.

I met Lisa there, and she had the giggling fits almost all the way throw the first half of the show. and most people noticed it.

I met another person that is as mad as me she is a older woman from New York during the interval. She flyed over to the UK just for one day just to see CATS. Now that is mad. But then again I want to go to the US and C the us Tour.

My throat was very saw so I couldn't say much. I was mouthing the words to the songs. Gave Adrian [aka Mungojerry] a back scratch then he tries to take of my one of my boot. Loved it giving him a back scratch, and I think he liked it to. He was hiding right by me what could I do. hehe. The look he gave Helen [aka Bombalurina] during the Macavity song, was good. when bomby saies "I migh mention Mungojerry, Rumpleteazer, gribblebones, are nothing more than agents for". he was so cute picking the stage to bits, just like a kitten, I wonder if anyone found out about that yet. And scratching pulling at the slip mat in the tunnel leading under the stage. I loved the way that on the slope going up onto the stage. He and Teazer where siting on it, while Grizzabela was on. and teazer was going to go on the stage she was on all fours, and mungo literaly pulled her tail and she slip back down the slope past mungo. hehe what a pull on a tail teazer coudent do anything about it, she just slided down. Wish I had camera at that point.

Rebecca [aka Jemima] did the Etcy [Etcetera] swing during Jellicle songs for Jellicle Cats. and scream bit in Rum Tum Tugger. He he that reminds me JP [John Partridge aka Tugger], you know when etcy screams well Jemima did that bit and tugger sticks his tail literally in her mouth about an inch of it and all the fluffy stuff to. YUK. that shut her up. Etcy does it better scream better. There was no Etcy, back flip around the whole theatre, I dont think any one can do that apart from her, Jemima dident try it.

JP kissed the guy behind me on his boald head, and jumped on a very embarrassed girl. Got some good looks from some of the cast, winks etc.

Andrew played Carbucketty well, nothing wrong with his makeup :). he looked so sute when he was on the pipe at the back of the stage. he was laying flat on hin stomach, and with his arms curled up and he head resting on his arms. looking out. What would have made a purrrrrrrrfect photo of Andrew at that point. Stori [aka Skimbleshanks] was so cute and what a grin he has, I think he has one of the biggest grins of the lot.

Technical hitches:-

Not many just that the lights of the car that they have got dident work and so there was no light in the beginning or the a big care sound but there was a quieter car sound. Or the lights during Mungo/Rumples song.
