“Live Wire”

By any stretch of the imagination this was one hell of a gig, incorporating not one but 2 lead vocalists to perfectly tribute the fine voices of both Brian Johnson and Bon Scott from that stompingly brilliant power group AC DC.
AC DC is not an easy band to tribute / cover well but Live Wire most certainly did it with style, passion and sheer musical talent as they blasted their way through one huge hit after another such as: TNT, Dirty Deeds, Back in Black, Hells Bell, Rock n Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution etc…to a joyful and packed Woughton Centre crowd.
There were times when you could have been forgiven for thinking that you were in the presence of Bon Scott or Brian Johnson themselves as the band took us through a storming musical tour-de-force of some of Rock Music’s finest tunes.
It is often rare for a tribute band to stand on it’s own and deliver a set that so perfectly lives up to both it’s name and the band that it tributes, but “Live Wire” was certainly one of these select few bands.
Musically the band was well formed with some really exceptional guitar, bass and drum work that for me at least helped to seal this as one truly exceptional night of rock bliss.
This was “Stadium Rock” at it’s best delivered in a tight and well balanced set that could be appreciated by old and new fans alike showcasing just how versatile and accessible the music of this great band really are and how well the music has stood the test of time.
I was also equally impressed by how little any of the usual “Tribute Band Theatrics” were used apart from the usual Angus Young impersonator who never over shadowed the music but rather delivered a performance that equally complimented it without it being too “in your face” and “over the top”.
The final icing on the cake had to be the delivery of the final song of the night with both lead singers in attendance offering their own unique and fitting musical interpretation.
What a great and blinding way to end the show!
I doubt very much that this will be the last time we will see this great tribute act. These guys rock and we very much salute them for it!
