11th & 12th March 2000 - Welsh Open Championships in Bangor - see - Changes subject to ratification: Despite the apparent low entry the competition brought many very fine swimmers from all over the UK as shown by the number of records which were broken:
Mens Championship Records - 41 [This included a World Record for Tom Walker - see report] and Mens Welsh Records - 28
Womens Championship Records - 27 and Womens Welsh records - 20
There were also Irish and British records broken during the meet:
Other highlights: a fairwell address by our President, Jeanette Lade who praised the achievements of one of our outstanding swimmers, Lesley Wilde - see report and a special 50th birthday wish for one of our senior officials Ann Adams - see report.
