Bird feeding
Feeding birds in your gardens an activiy that should be carried out all year not just in the winter. I have a small garden (50ft x 20ft) in which I have 3 feeders, 2 seed and a mesh peanut feeder. These atract a variety of birds including blue Tits, Great Tits Chaffinch Greenfinch and greater spotted woodpecker. The seeder feeders also support a growing colony of house sparrows an increasing rare sight in he london area.
Nest Boxes
I have a single nest box at the end of the garden. the one I use is made of concreate which means it is insulated and predator proof. Since I have had it up for the last couple of years it has been used by several broods of Great Tits.
