Hugh Bigod built Framlingham to last. It was one of the first castles to have a surrounding curtain wall and several towers rather than one central keep. - The Kings Head
This fine 13th century, traditional English pub is set in the heart of Woodbridge, one of the oldest and finest towns in the county of Suffolk. From its prominent position at the top of Market Hill, the splendid heavily timbered, historic Inn looks down over the ancient market place and Shire Hall, offering towns people and visitors alike the guarantee of a warm welcome, fine food and a wide range of excellent beers, wines and spirits.
- The Seckford Hall
Seckford Hall dates from 1530 and it is said that Elizabeth I once held court there. The hall has lost none of its Tudor grandeur. Furnished as a private house with many fine period pieces, the panelled rooms, beamed ceilings, carved doors and great stone fireplaces are displayed against the splendour of English oak. Local delicacies such as the house speciality, lobster, feature on the a la carte menu.
- The Bull Inn
The Bull Hotel has stood in the centre of Woodbridge overlooking the market square since the 16th century when it was a posting house for coaches running between Ipswich and Norwich. Its conspicuous white facade is a landmark of the town which stands on slopes above the River Deben.
