What's all this about then?

These pages contain a little story that I wrote at the tail end of 2001. At the time it was done as a bit of a "wind up" to a friend of mine and it was supposed to be a leaked copy of "the Salmon of Doubt" which, at the time,  was thought to have been a sixth Hitchhiker book.

I found I quite enjoyed developing the story and went on to finish the plotline without really putting any meat into it. I have tinkered with it some more but it is still a long way from being finished.
If I used use the same system that P.G. Wodehouse used, it would be sitting firmly on the skirting boards.

I've stuck it up here to see if anyone would like to comment, contribute ideas, send in, send back, query, lose, find, subject to public inquiry, lose again, and finally bury in soft peat and recycle as firelighters... or whatever..

The story uses characters, situations, ideas and, in parts, entire blocks of text from the Hitchhiker books and several of the other versions as well. If anyone connected with Douglas' estate has a problem with this, let me know and I will remove it.
