The G Whip Base Antenna
Top Band to 10 and up if required

Made in Britain

As supplied covers 160/80/40/20/10 Mtrs
The "G Whip" base antenna consists of two helically wound units representing a reduced 1/2 wave dipole and it is centre loaded (coils are inserted between the main helical stem and the resonator half way along the length of each 1/4 wave element), the antenna covers Top Band to 28 Mhz. (No tuner required)
At around 16 foot total length it is the ideal antenna for those small gardens, small flats, holiday trips, balconies, loft installations or just for portable use (eg Raynet and emergency HF communications including Marine 2182 KHz). It will never replace a full size dipole, but it does work very well and in many circumstances will give you at least a chance of working HF/VHF. As the sunspot cycle develops things can only get better. Suggested operating height is 20 to 30 feet for optimum performance. There are no loss resistor networks, baluns, traps, or tuner in this antenna, it is purely a reduced 1/2 wave helically wound dipole. A resonant antenna, simple as that! read the reports by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
Built to surpass MIL 810 requirements. Totally waterproof & weatherproof.
Centre box that has under gone tests underwater for 2 months, it is fully potted with epoxy resin

Each matched 1/4 wave stem is screwed into the central IP66 waterproof rated box, then the coil of your choice is fitted, and finally, the stainless steel resonators and whips. NO Tuner is required.
"A centre loaded horizontal antenna that can be rotated to reduce interference".

Supplied with stainless steel hardware for fitting to a 1 1/4" mast.
Very low VSWR as the antenna is resonant, can be adjusted for any part of the amateur band in seconds by simply adjusting the sliding end whips which are then locked in place with locking nuts made of stainless steel. (see picture below).

Close up of resonator adjusting rod/tip, all stainless steel to survive the elements
Supplied with carry/storage tube
4 Mtr Tripod option available

Sweeps at 10 feet above ground with no tuner. When I have time I will put up the tweeked sweeps under 3/1 VSWR this will show full bandwidth.
