Deep beneath South Heighton, one mile north of Newhaven in East Sussex, lie the forgotten remains of a once vibrant maritime intelligence centre. Recent research revealed just how vital this secret establishment was to the war effort.
In June 2000 English Heritage declared these tunnels to be of National Importance.
