An authentic old Sussex pub with an opened out interior most of which is given over to eating area. A flagstone floor, massive beams and posts add character. This pub is described as ‘a gem’ in Camra’s Good Beer Guide but for us it didn’t sparkle. The dust lies thick, the windows are filthy and the whole place would benefit from a lick of paint. Otherwise, the beer range is encouraging but could, like the rest of the place, be a bit brighter. A good menu. |
