A clamber amongst the rock pools, literally teeming with marine life, will turn even the youngest members of the family into ardent explorers.

Visit the new inshore RNLI Lifeboat Station, it's one of the most modern you'll see anywhere and it has a great shop where you can buy all manner of RNLI souvenirs.

Perhaps some wind surfing or body boarding or, if that sounds a bit too strenuous, try just lazing in a deckchair to watch the world go by, followed by a cup of steaming tea in the beach café. . . in slow motion of course!
