New work for 2009 brings together many of the skills and ideas developed over 30 years of working in ceramics. The pieces are created individually in porcelain, combining throwing and modeling techniques. Sometimes colour is added to the porcelain and the surface polished to a silky finish. At other times the carved patterning is enhanced with glazes, stains and lustres, building up layers of detail and interest. Both the discs and the more figurative sculptures range in size from intricate keepsakes (7cms) to larger forms (30cms).
