Scenario Training Package
Aim: To assist candidates in their preparation for their O.S.P.R.E. Part 2 assessment centre.
Objectives:
- Provide candidates with an understanding of the format of the exercises utilised in the O.S.P.R.E. Part 2 assessment centre
- Provide candidates with an understanding of how to use the candidate information
- Provide candidates with an understanding of how to use/interact with the exercise role actor
- Provide candidates with an understanding of how the assessment checklist is constructed
- Provide candidates with an understanding of how on the assessment checklist
Training Package format: The scenarios contained in the package will follow the format of the popular and successful Police Review series written by Gary Wynn since 2004. To reflect the ratio of police/non-police scenarios contained in the actual Part 2 assessment centre the exercises will comprise the following:
- Bibov — a Sergeant to discuss a performance issue
- Duncan — a resident to discuss a local issue
- Osgar — a Sergeant to discuss a performance issue
- Hamil — a councillor to discuss a local issue
- Wilson — Sergeant to discuss a performance issue
Each scenario will comprise the following:
- Candidate information — the written content of the scenario which will be debriefed
- Role actor instructions — which will be cross-referenced with the candidate information and debriefed
- Assessment checklist — which will be cross-referenced with both the candidate information and role actor instructions and debriefed
All of the scenarios have been written by fully trained scenario writers who are senior serving police officers and crucially former members of NPIA Examinations and Assessment Unit, Harrogate . This team of experienced experts ensures the validity and topicality of the scenarios. No other organisation can offer a team of scenario writers with this knowledge and experience. The package will also include tips on how best to use the time available to you during the preparation phase and activity phases at your Part 2 assessment centre
Series costs: £7.50 if exercises are purchased individually.
