News as of Sunday 22nd April 2001 at 22:00 hours
Bill, Pat and Gill arrive home safe and sound. After a brief conversation several
things become clear. Pat enjoyed a good bath when she got back (no baths at Bethany) and she thanks God for her safe return - and says it is a 'not to be forgotten experience!' Gill spent a considerable time helping out in the clinic. She is considering the possibility of going back longer term but is hoping there are others who will be prepared to help (a team perhaps!). Bill managed to get a lot of the electrical work sorted out but tells us we need two new batteries for the generator and alarm system.

News as of Thursday 25th April 2001 at 19:00 hours
Good news, the Tanzanian Embassy have returned our passports (Graham, Tracey and
Rachel's ) in record time. All nicely stamped with the appropriate Visa.
Things are slowly coming together for Bethany with more and more people coming foward
and showing an interest in going to see what it's all about.
Nothing more heard from Fares in Tanzania but Post office in Magu may still be having
problems. We just hope they are receiving ours. |

News as of Saturday 14th April 12noon
No faxes have been received from Bill, Pat and Gill as of todays date. It does
appear that there were three attempts to send a fax on Tuesday 10th April at around noon from Tanzania. A fax around this time is what we would expect - to confirm safe journey etc. Unfortunately we have tried to send a fax several times today but the line is still out of order. The line we use is the main line to the Post Office in Magu but this can be out of action for several days. |

"Hope they shall have a good time with Patricia and Gill".
Other News: Sunday 8th April 2001
We have just had our Prayer morning and Information afternoon.
Several new faces came along as well as some very 'old ones'.
Dave shore (a founding member of Bethany) brought along Faith
from York to see what Bethany was all about. Mel and Keith
came along as well as Kim Philpot - all wanting to know more.
Tracey also came along to stay the weekend to go through all
the things she will be doing when she goes for 3months along
with Rachel at the beginning of May.
Bill Harris, Gill Luck and Patricia Charnley are pictured (right) at
5 am on Sunday morning 8th April. They are preparing for their long trek
to the wilds of Tanzania. This is the first visit for Gill and Pat and both are a
little apprehensive about what Bethany has in store for them.
Yours prayers for a safe journey would be appreciated as well as for
their families, friends and supporters they leave behind. One thing is for
certain - the children at Bethany will have been praying for them since
they knew they were going to visit.
