Other News:
Last week we tried to buy 4 new 'Talbot Talflo' taps for our standpipe but the suppliers 'T M Products Ltd' of
Winchester would not hear of it and supplied them free of charge. What can we say only a very warm 'thank you'.
We have just heard from Maria De Freitas who as you will recall intended going to Bethany in January but was
taken ill when she was on holiday in South Africa. Maria underwent a successful operation in January and
returned to the UK last week. She now wants to visit Bethany in May/June for two weeks with a view to longer
term work.

Here you see a picture of our new (second-hand) microscope which Hilary Murphy finally managed to procure
from a kind
donor. We are arranging for the old one which has recently been very unreliable to be returned for an overhaul.
We received a fax from Fares on the 6th Feb. He confirms safe receipt of faxes we have sent and promises to
pick up Mark
and Samantha McVey from the airport on Monday 12th Feb at 10am.
Tabaji has still not had the operation on his foot and his wound is getting worse. Fares has confined him to a
room where he is
not allowed to run around and make it worse. The other children visit him in his room to play.
The family enjoyed the short time they had with Brian and Rachel and are looking forward to Rachel's return.
I quote from the fax: about Rachel: '...according to the childcare workers and the children especially Regina ....
she seems to fit
at family as she works hard, is good to the children and all the workers'.
Fares says they are excited about Mark and Sam's visit and looking forward to Christopher's return and hope he
can make
some mesh doors to keep out the mosquitos.
