Past News July 2002
News from Bethany Tanzanian Thursday 11th July 2002
It seems a long time since the last update but in reality only about two weeks.
Much has been happening since then and as we now use emails to
communicate we seem to be better informed. For the most part things have been
going on as normal - Faith has been asking about the provision of an incinerator
as the disposal of dressing and other medical waste is a problem. Vicky
continues with teaching the children English and looking after the store room,
having a few problems with the school time table which seems to change every
week.
The learning of Swahili has slowed down at present because John Katinde has
not been available.
Faith also mentions Regina: " Regina is doing OK, pottering about. She is
having a dry dressing daily to leg as it is oozing serous fluid slightly. She
doesn't have much appetite."
Please pray for Regina.
Otherwise, things seem to be going on much as normal.
Home News: Rachel and Gill have only just over a week to sort everything out
before they leave on the 22nd July. Graham is taking his video and hopes to
video some of the different aspects of Bethany ready for a new video which
should be available sometime in November - a time when we will be making final
preparations for the children's visit. We would want to start drawing up a time
table of events, schools and churches to visit etc. As yet Fares has no news on
the passport situation for the children.
Young Peoples trip - including Sharon! are preparing to visit on August 5th.
They will have a full program of things that will need doing. They are Rebecca,
Vicky, Barry, Paul and Sharon who is leading the group
September trip is now booked and includes; Eddie, Brian and Hannah Child.
RAF trip - August - September no further details.
Future trips no yet booked; We are looking to borrow a 'Portastudio' and
preferable someone who knows how to work it to accompany Graham to
Bethany in October to help with the sound recording and video.
