News from Bethany Tanzania Monday October 8th 2001
Graham, Gill and Maria return safely, all in good health - if a little tired. Everyone is well at
Bethany with the exception of Regina whose health continues to deteriorate (please pray for her). The Clinic was very busy during our stay and they were helped by Gill who spent many hours sorting out the paperwork etc. Maria spent many happy hours learning Swahili and teaching/entertaining some of the younger children. Graham changed the UV tube and completed one or two other maintenance tasks.
As always Fares is still hoping for volunteers from the UK to come and join the team in
Tanzania so that they can start to take in more children.
More news later.

Fares congratulates Eddie and Heather and I quote "It has been very good and
exciting to know about Alex. We are really happy about that good news. The are have a desire to see and carry Alex. Hongera sana Heather na Eddie kwa mtoto Alex."
He also reports that everyone is well. Bernard, one our of child care workers has
left to work on a road building scheme and he has been replaced by Emauel Samuel.
Fares also states; "It is still our prayer that we shall get volunteers from the UK to
work with us."
Home News:
Our next Prayer morning / Information day is coming up on Saturday 27th October
and we hope to see many of Bethany's supporters. Hopefully Faith and Tracey will be there and as many local people as possible. We have also heard from a Victoria Kyriakidis who intends to make the trip to see us.
Brian Bancroft makes the next trip out to Tanzania in November and then another
trip will be arranged for mid January 2002 - this could be for you! |

Quotes:
"Hope everything is well with you. The family is doing fine. The children are very
busy with their lessons and shamba work as it started to rain in Tanzania.
We decided to shift the older boys (Ibra, Mwita and Magesa) from the boy's
bedroom to house one as we need people to be with us since we are approaching to December the hard time as you can remember!"
You will remember the robbery which took place two years ago, Fares and Grace
still feel uneasy about the security of Bethany especially at this time of year.
Other News:
Brian's trip is now confirmed and Graham's trip will shortly be booked. So far
Graham has only one companion, Victoria Kyriakidis but we are actively seeking others - could this be you?.
Faith Turner and Gill Luck are considering going to Bethany long term (12months
or more) and they are part way through that process. Gill has enrolled for a ECDL (computer course) so she will need our prayers!
Heather and Eddie's new baby Alex is doing fine.
