Everyone well
New doctor - Dr. Misambo joined the Clinic staff to assist Lazarus. He has had more training than Lazarus
and has some experience of dental work. Fares tells us "Mr Misambo is working hard in our Clinic from the
3rd of this month. We took him to the Magu district Medical Office to talk about the issue of helping people
with teeth problem expecting to borrow some equipment but there isn't. So we're waiting to get from UK as
you manage to bring some".
Fares also tells us they are having a problem with the well "The syphone took two days from the time you left
then stoped. We have been trying to make it work again by cleaning the filter in the lake, Adding more
breaks (bricks) on the pipe in the lake where the pipe was coming out of the surface of the water. But until
now we're using water pump. The water is decreasing more and more in the lake as well!".
Fares also gives us a list of medicines he wants "Also we are requesting you to bring the following with Brian:
1. Evacuation Instruments 1 set 2. Drugs: Pethedine 100mg amples (25)."
We are pleased to tell you that we have now booked the next flights out. Brian Bancroft and Tracey Pearson
will leave on the 1st October - Brian for a short two week stay and Tracey for two months. Graham Pountain
visits for two weeks and leaves 14th November. He will return with Tracey 29th November. There is still time
to book with him for this trip - the cost will be about £800.
Next trip out after November will be in January 2001 - several people are considering this including our Nurse
Mss Hilary Murphy. Again, let us know if you are considering the possibilities.
