| WAP PHONE DEMO |
The big thing in the press just now is WAP - Wireless
Application Protocol. The proud downer of a WAP phone can now surf the web
to specially formatted websites. These are written in a special version of
HTML. If you would like to see a simulation of a WAP phone, go to
http://www.gelon.net/
Better still, word has reached our scribe that one of our members has just
got hold of one of the latest Nokia WAP phones, and will give us a demo on
Monday night.
If you have not got a WAP phone there is good news,
you can receive short emails on your conventional mobile simply by
registering with BT's free Genie service.

There are times when you are surfing the web when you
could really do with two browsers running at the same time. Up till now
this would entail you launching another instance of your browser, and
thereby using up a lot of your system's resources. Webattack recently
featured a very cleaver plugin for IE4/5 called DuoPage.
DuoPage
is a companion for Microsoft® Internet Explorer (4.0 or later) that
provides simultaneous display of two different web pages and enables
interaction between them. In a nutshell, it provides a separate browser
window in the left pane of the Internet Explorer, so that clicking on the
hyperlinks in the left window will display the corresponding page in the
right window. It can be very convenient when used with:
DuoPage is very easy to install and to use, and requires
virtually no effort to learn. It is seamlessly integrated into the
Internet Explorer and can be invoked from its menu or toolbar. Try DuoPage
and your browsing will become more efficient The program is free and takes
up a mere 50KB! You can download it in seconds from:
