About
Glyngynwydd
Glyngynwydd has been
listed in local records as a "township"
since early times and now consists of a
traditional 17th century farmhouse, surrounded by
a cluster of farm buildings of various ages, some
of which have now been sympathetically converted
to provide five individually designed,
beautifully appointed and comfortable
self-contained holiday cottages, whilst retaining
the original structure and character of these
fine old stone and timber framed buildings.

Nestling on the easterly slopes of an unspoilt valley, south of Llanidloes, the
buildings enjoy fine views of the beautiful surrounding Mid Wales countryside.
The house itself has been modernised and extended several times during the last
three hundred years or so and the most recent renovations were carried out in
1989 to remove the effects of a long period of neglect and the more garish
modernisations.
Now fully restored, the house features exposed beams, oak and flagstone floors,
inglenook fireplaces and traditional furnishings.
In addition to the recent renovation of the farmhouse, an adjacent barn and
stable block has been converted into five self-contained holiday cottages.
Every attempt has been made to retain the old structure and character of this
fine stone and timber framed building while at the same time providing
individually designed, beautifully appointed and comfortable accommodation.
