RoutPlan now has a setup program, extract the setup.exe from the routpxxx zip file and the run it to install RoutPlan.
The Synchronize airport utility will update the RoutPlan data files with the Airport files from the PS1 Simulator. If you have added any new airports to the simulator, download this utility and run the program contained in the zip file. Instructions are contained within the program.
If you are having problems with RoutPlan, please read the following
RoutPlan is a Windows 32 bit executable and will only run under Windows 95, 98 or NT 4. It has not been tested under NT version 3.51 and will probably not work correctly for the reasons outlined below.
The software is in beta test at the moment. This is a process that all software goes through where problems and operational difficulties are identified by users, reported and fixed by the author. Depending on the style of the beta test new releases can be frequent whilst show-stopping problems are dealt with. RoutPlan is, hopefully moving out of this phase and into calmer waters. Do not expect the program to perform faultlessly. If you experience problems please mail me at thunderbolt@dial.pipex.com with an explanation of what went wrong and your basic system details. I will do my best to respond.
RoutPlan uses some of the functionality contained in later versions of the Windows Common Controls; these are shipped with Windows 98, Internet explorer 4.0+ and the later service packs for NT4. If the program terminates with a warning about requiring a later version of COMCTL32.DLL then you need to update your system, IF YOU DO NOT SEE THIS MESSAGE THEN YOU DO NOT NEED TO UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM
There are a number of ways to get the required version of the Common Controls:-
Whatever method you choose to adopt, please do not blame me if things go wrong during the update process, Windows is not mine (mercifully). If you would rather not update, then regrettably you will not be able to use RoutPlan in its current form.
