5-A-Side Football Competition

The Anne Spence Trophy For Scouts

Scout and Explorer Scout Results 2003

This year, the competition was organised by Keith Allan, the five-a-side football convenor, and held, as usual in the Inverkeithing Community Wing on Saturday 22nd November. Five Scout teams took part, with another two teams from the Explorer Scout Section. Many thanks must go to Keith, to the Inverkeithing Wing, for use of their facilities, the Inch Fellowship for keeping the scores and to all others who helped to make the competition a success.

A very special thanks must be offered to Mike Warren, a parent from of the 13th scouts, who stood in at the last moment when the referee could not make it. Mike refereed all the games, without even a break.

As there were only five scout teams this year, the scout competition was played as a league, each team playing each other team, thus avoiding a following "knock-out" round. The two explorer scout teams played each other twice, however after the two games the scores were equal, resulting in a play-off game. It was agreed if still equal after that, it would be settled by penalties.
