Edinburgh Marathon 2006Just Imagine! 22oC Temperature Backdrop of Arthur's Seat 10,000 legs and Arms Well don't imagine it was the Edinburgh Marathon |
On the 11th June it was the time for all the runners to put on their shoes and to start to plod along the Streets of Edinburgh. Once again Rosyth District sent a squad to help with the volunteer side. This year a 20-man squad were there to help sort out the baggage. We arrived in Princes Street at 7am a bit tired but ready for a fun packed day. All the competitors arrived and delivered their kit bags into the trucks that were transported down to Holyrood Park. |

By the time we got there, the first runners were passing us at the 5 mile mark, 20 mins into the race and they were still looking fresh. We then had to wait for the runners to finish and come and collect their kit bags. |
After it all had finished we then went to the traditional Post race party (BBQ) and the Explorers had the typical massage that seemed to go down well. We finally arrived home at 6.30pm tired but pleased that we had made a difference. |
