This years competition was held in the 68th Fife, Inverkeithing, headquarters with four teams of four taking up the challenge. The 68th Fife Troop sent apologies that they were unable to form a team to take part.
The winning team was from the 13th from Rosyth, who retained the trophy, for the third year in a row, but it was close, with three teams all within a few points. Congratulations to brothers Steven and Criag Hunter, Christopher Dewar and Gavin Rodger on their success.
Can I thank all those who took part in the event, the Scouts, their leaders and those who took time on Tuesday to help run the bases. I would also like to thank the 68th for use of their hall for the evening and for the cup of coffee.

I added a new base this year, 'railway safety', and this was surprisingly well answered. I will need to make the questions harder next time. But it shows that Scouts are aware of the issues affecting their safety on railways. However, the subject of swimming in rivers, was not well answered, but on reflection, it was probably something Scouts would not really consider, with leaders making decisions and providing the correct systems for safety.
Finally, if you would like to see changes in the format, can suggest subjects for different bases, or if you would like to see the full questions and answers, these are available from the ADC(S). If you would like to see a copy, email Gordon Stevenson.
