2002/03 First Project The Design Brief Various rooms in the home need lighting that is affordable and original. Your brief is to design a light for a contemporary room. The light should be: You coud draw inspiration from: 2001/02 First Project - the 'Create European Design & Technology Project'. The Context - The purpose of this project is not only to produce an ambitious project involving what might be described as 'cutting edge technology', but also to build bridges between countries and encourage understanding and friendship between differing cultures. We still experience the aftermath of the 'Second World War' which was not all that long ago, when countless numbers of people suffered atrocities in many forms. The recent events in America cement the need for all of us to try and understand each other and work together to avoid conflict, and build a better world for the future. The next planning meeting is here in Woodbridge when staff and students from Finland, Hungary, and Germany, will discuss the way forward. The Brief - To design and manufacture a working model of a potential sculpture for this project. Note - The best attempt could well form the final British solution. Two students from Woodbridge will be selected to represent the School at the following meeting in Finland, Spring 2001.
The following components could be used to drive your sculpture.
