The book represents the first comprehensive description of the medieval fortress written for more than 100 years.
It describes the exciting results of the archaeological investigation of the Anglo-Saxon citadel and the medieval castle, including geophysical survey, excavation and documentary research.
48 pages long and illustrated throughout by photographs and diagrams, including a detailed centre page plan of the medieval castle.
