In the 1950`s I was foe a while the owner of a 1932? Hornet Daytona Special. I have no recollection of the registration but I parted with it after repairing a broken crankcase caused by a thrown rod. I hope someone is still the proud owner of a great little car. Ian Plumb

In the 1950's my father, Robert Blassberg, owned a fixed head Wolseley Hornet which he always described as a "Daytona Special". The registration number was CS6375. Does anyone have any information on this car? Reply:- Sorry, the club records indicate we know of the existence of CS6375, but we have no details of the car or any of its owners - Graham Hyde (Registrar)

This is not the sort of message the usually gets posted but here goes. If you are interested in sharing your opinions about your car and getting rewarded for it then all you have to do is go to www.indiefield.net and follow the link to Register Now quoting the reference CAR98. This will take you to the Indiefield Consumer Directory, and is a way of registering to take part in market research events. Sessions can last anything from five minutes to a few hours and, if you take part, you will receive a gratuity of anything from £1 to £150 depending on the exact nature of the study. Please get in touch!

Hi, Many thanks to everyone who replied to my request for information about plugs. My engine is now running. However, I need some further assistance regarding the engine timing. I have set my ignition timing to fire at TDC when the control lever on the steering column is fully retarded. This gives me 30 degrees advance BTDC when the lever is fully advanced. Can anyone let me know if this is correct. Best Regards to everyone, Barry

My wife's uncle, now in his late eighties, built a special in about 1948 using a Wolseley Hornet chassis, which was fitted with a Riley Nine engine and a preselector gearbox. Does anybody know what happened to it? It had the registration number NYD 845, and he has sent me three good photos of the car taken in 1948. I know it is a bit of a long shot, and the car may well have been broken up by now, but it would be great to be able to tell him what happened to it.

I'm looking for a decent, straight chassis (prefarably bare but rolling considered) for a 32/33 Hornet Special (pre - cross flow non cruciform type). Otherwise, will have to restore my banana shaped, extremely flexible one!. Would also appreciate any contacts of recommended firms to take on re-jigging, straighetening and rebuilding work of this tired chassis. Thanks J

Hello, I just bought a 1934 Hornet special sport. Where can I get spare parts and literature for the car. The car is equipped with cycle wings and 16" wheels with racing tires. I am looking for the original 18" rims. Are there any Wolseley owners in Germany? Best regards and greetings from Germany. Gunter

I own a`Wolseley Hornet MkII. It's a 1966 original car, maroon in colour, that's been in the family for over 20 years. The car has only covered 64 thousand orginal miles from new and is still used regularly. I looking to sell the Hornet as I also own another classic that I use daily and am concerned the Hornet will fall into neglect, especially as my wife and I have recently had a baby. The Hornet needs a good home. It's a really lovely reliable and orginal little car. Call me on 07775 561479 for details.

Folks, there is a new noticeboard linked to the club website. If you are still seeing this (old) noticeboard, then it is not working for you. You need to delete your cookies from the Tools bar, remove whsc.co.uk from your favourites then reboot your computer. When running again, enter whsc.co.uk (return) go to the website. You can now add to your favourites again and the "View Noticeboard" button should route you to a different (new) noticeboard. There are a few messages already there. The problem is that your computer is not following the new link but remembering the old one.
We will probably go back to BT Internet's noticeboard when they get it working again!
Regards
Graham Hyde
