The aim of the Service, a registered charity, is to help neighbours in dispute to find a peaceful and lasting resolution to their problems using professionally trained and experienced mediators who give their time and expertise free of charge. It is run by a Management Committee of volunteers drawn from the local community and from potential referral agencies. The service is available to all Ealing residents and is free, impartial, confidential and independent.
The mediators are volunteers, mainly local residents, drawn from many walks of life with different cultural, social, religious and ethnic backgrounds. They have been specially trained, understand the stresses and strains caused by neighbour disputes, will not judge, blame or take sides and will not give instructions.
