Church Path

Some of these houses in this picture at the bottom of Church Path were used as lodgings for performers from the Chiswick Empire theatre. This row of houses was destroyed by a bomb in 1940, and replaced with modern flats. Note that the position of the lamp-post and the telegraph pole has remained the same!
This card was published after 1926 when Kelly's Directory lists Sidney Hornsey, dentist, at number 7 for the first time.
