Kent Road Bomb

This picture was taken  in 1940 at the eastern end of Kent Road, looking eastwards, at the junction with Church Path. The bomb responsible was allegedly a land-mine on a green parachute. All the damaged houses shown here were demolished and replaced with flats. Today, Carver Close is situated roughly where the large, three-storey houses and trees stood in the centre background of the photograph.
