EALING COMMUNITY AND POLICE CONSULTATIVE GROUP
REPORT OF A MEETING, NOVEMBER 20, 2003
Attendance approx. 35. A positive meeting, apart from poor attendance. The public are welcome and it would be appreciated if some members of AGRA were able to attend. The Police give it high priority and want to increase their interface with the public.
CRIME REPORT: Sup. Mick Taylor
1.Safer homes
The year had started well with significant reductions in burglary, but recently numbers had increased. Many burglaries were sheds, garages and shops; most were during the day. Typical burglars were thought to be in their twenties, white, involved in drugs and living in the area. 3 arrests had been made and 42 charges.
2. Safer streets
A 25% decrease was encouraging, with significant arrests. Ealing was second best London borough
3. Vehicle crime
Better, but several hotspots. There seemed to be no pattern in types of vehicles stolen or tampered with. Thieves use very sophisticated methods
