John O'Groats 2 v 2 Wick Groats
John O'Groats were unlucky not to take 3 points against Wick Groats as the game finished 2 - 2. John O'Groats got off to the best start as striker Henstridge almost scored after 12 minutes but his shot was hit directly at the keeper. Wick Groats first chance of the game never came until 26 minutes.
Groats were rewarded with their efforts as striker Henstridge scored a superb goal on the half hour mark to give a vital lead to John O'Groats. Wick Groats put on a considerable amount of pressure known that a lose would leave them in relegation trouble, they were rewarded when they scored through a header in 52 minutes.
Wick Groats really upped the pace and were playing some good football hardly allowing John O'Groats back in the game and took the lead in 60 minutes to make it 2 - 1.
John O'Groats managed to get themselves back in the game known that a point for them could also prove vital, striker D. Munro was held back in the box, claims for a penalty were heard from the John O'Groats coaching staff however the referee played on.
Four minutes later striker Henstridge was clearly taken down in the penalty box and this time the referee quite rightly awarded the penalty. Penalty taker Del Munro held is nerve and struck the penalty away to make it 2 - 2 with over quarter an hour left in the game.
John O'Groats had a few other good chances in the last ten minutes but were unable to take all 3 points.
