EDITOR’S LETTER Welcome to my third edition of Rotary Ravings. The main item of news this month is the commencement of production of the gorgeous new RX-8. Details, together with some pictures hopefully will have found their way to the colour section on the front page. Also gracing the cover is probably one of the more “used” examples of RX-7 I’ve seen this side of a breakers yard, the Series I car of John Coetzee. Seeing this car and the way it’s used was a real eye opener! There should also be a short write up covering the Club stand that featured at last Novembers’ NEC Classic Show. The weekend was very successful, and was kindly supported by local (ish) rotary guru’s Hurley Engineering and Jimmy’s RX-7 Specialists. This edition sees the first in a series of articles featuring a “deep dive” into the workings of the UK Mazda RX-7 specialists. Based on feedback from last years’ Membership Survey, this seems to be a popular request from a large number of Club members. We kick the series off with an article on Hurley Engineering, who I have personal experience of providing a first rate, professional service. Also featured in this edition is a Buyers Guide compiled from advice from Colin James. Future articles on the later models are planned—if you have any experiences of buying these models, good or bad, please drop me a line or even better write the article! The more shared information we have, the better the Guide will be, and in turn the stronger the Club will become... A slightly less technical RX-7 Buyers Guide, covering the first and last generations, features in the March Edition of “Practical Classics” magazine. Again, well worth a read, with some interesting early model history. |
