Larry Gumbleton

Larry Gumbleton, 2003
Larry Gumbleton worked for the captain of a tug boat in New York harbour. The captain's name was Wilson Rex; the tugboat was the "Mexpet."
It was believed Larry Gumbleton had been adopted or taken from an orphanage in Saco, Maine.
The car in the picture is a 1929 Pierce-Arrow sedan, a quality American car on the order of Packard, Lincoln and Cadillac. Apparently Larry Gumbleton drove the P-A for Captain Rex. Larry is on the right: others in the picture are left to right William Albro Carman, who in earlier years had been the captain of the racing schooner "Coronet;" Phoebe Jane Brower and Jennie Brower. All of these three were Woodmere, Long Island people.
